Primary objective
Provide high level professional advice to Senior Management, Regions, Client Agencies and Project Managers on the
planning, development, and management of infrastructure programs, including Capital Works, Minor New Works and
Repairs and Maintenance for roads and civil infrastructure across the Northern Territory.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Develop and coordinate infrastructure program funding submissions for Capital Works, Minor New Works and Repairs
and Maintenance Programs for roads and civil infrastructure across the Northern Territory.
2. Provide expert program management advice to Senior Management, Regions, Client agencies and Project Managers to
ensure effective planning, coordination, and delivery of Capital Works, Minor New Works, and Repairs and
Maintenance programs.
1. Monitor program expenditure and negotiate revisions of funding priorities and project substitutions between Client
agencies and Regions.
1. Lead and manage program delivery and ensure all infrastructure programs comply with relevant policies, standards, and
program requirements through effective program governance, risk management, and stakeholder coordination.
1. Provide high quality financial and progress reports to Clients, Regions, Executive Management and Ministers on Minor
New Works and Repairs and Maintenance Programs for roads and civil infrastructure across the Northern Territory.
1. Foster strong working relationships and collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to facilitate successful
program delivery.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. A degree in Civil Engineering or other tertiary qualifications relevant to the position.
2. Sound ability to provide high level professional advice to Senior Management, Project Managers and Client agencies on
the development and management of Infrastructure Programs for roads and civil infrastructure across the Northern
Territory.
1. High level Program and Project Management and coordination skills.
2. Demonstrated ability to interpret complex technical matters into clear, high-level insights tailored for a variety of client,
industry and community stakeholders.
5. Proven track record of cultivating and sustaining high-trust, strong professional working relationships and communicate
in a highly professional manner with colleagues, external clients, the community and industry representatives.
6. Demonstrated high level capacity to lead effectively under pressure, balancing multiple high-level priorities with agility,
composure, and adaptive problem-solving skills.
7. Demonstrated proven ability to deliver innovative, client-responsive solutions to complex civil asset maintenance and
construction challenges, anticipating stakeholder needs and driving continuous improvement.
Desirable
1. Current Northern Territory C Class driver's licence or interstate equivalent;
2. Knowledge of working in commercial environment.
