This is a permanent part-time (0.4 FTE) position commencing as soon as possible

The Role

The Deputy Principal assumes a pivotal role, working closely with the principal and the administrative team to shape the school’s identity. Educational leadership is a key responsibility, involving the active development and promotion of the school’s values, ethos, and priorities. The Deputy Principal champions a collaborative approach, encouraging staff, volunteers, and community members to actively share ownership of the school’s vision and goals.

In leading change, the Deputy Principal strategically facilitates the acceptance of new initiatives and identifies opportunities for improved service delivery, with particular attention to practices that enhance outcomes for Students At Educational Risk. This includes building staff capacity to use data, targeted interventions, and evidence-based strategies that foster engagement, achievement, and well-being.

Overseeing school operations, the Deputy Principal is instrumental in ensuring the effective delivery of the School Plan through decision-making, policy development, and the establishment of systems that align with the school’s overarching objectives. The role provides strategic direction for staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in professional performance, while embedding inclusive practices that support both universal and targeted approaches.

The Deputy Principal ideally plays a vital role in the daily management of staff and student well-being, potentially overseeing timetabling responsibilities to ensure flexible and responsive allocations that meet the needs of all learners.

Overall, the Deputy Principal serves as a key figure for educational leadership and operational effectiveness within the school, with a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and ensuring every student is supported to succeed.
