Karratha, WA | Residential (Preferred) or 2:1 FIFO from Perth
GSD is seeking an experienced Senior Operator (Level 4) to join our growing operations team in Karratha. This is a leadership-based field role suited to an operator who can work independently, lead small teams, and deliver high-quality industrial services safely and efficiently.
This position supports operational readiness, mentors junior operators, and executes NDD and vacuum truck works to the highest safety and compliance standards
The Role
As a Senior Operator, you will:
* Operate Heavy Industrial Vacuum Trucks (Levels 1–3) and Combo Units
* Lead small crews on vacuum and HP water jetting projects
* Manage and complete small-scale projects independently
* Conduct confined space entry, gas testing & work at heights
* Perform tank cleaning and operate breathing apparatus where required
* Conduct equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
* Support emergency response callouts
You will be hands-on in the field while developing junior team members and maintaining strong client relationships.
Qualifications
* 5–10 years industry experience
* HR Licence
* Confined Space & Gas Atmosphere Testing
* Working at Heights
* High Pressure Water Jetting (MSASS0018)
* First Aid & CPR
Highly Desirable
* High Risk Work Licence (Forklift, EWP, Scissor Lift)
* HAZMAT
* Confined Space Rescue
* Ability to lead by example
* Confident operating plant & towing trailers
* Experience in controlled waste transport & disposal
* Ability to pass site inductions, LABDAS & medicals
* Calm under pressure and solutions-focused
