Overview
ALPA seeks an exceptional Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across the corporation’s multi‑divisional operations. Reporting to a community‑elected Board, the CEO is responsible for translating Board priorities into action, ensuring financial sustainability, strong governance, and culturally grounded service delivery. The role leads an experienced Executive Team and holds ultimate accountability for organisational performance, compliance, risk management and safety.
Responsibilities
* Translate Board priorities into actionable strategies and operational plans.
* Ensure financial sustainability, strong governance, and compliant risk management.
* Champion the “One ALPA, One Vision” approach and strengthen ALPA’s reputation as a national leader in community‑controlled enterprise, nutrition, economic development and remote service delivery.
* Lead and develop a high‑performing Executive Team, fostering inclusive, decisive leadership and a culture of accountability, safety and purpose.
* Build respectful, trusted relationships with First Nations communities, Boards, governments and partners.
* Champion culturally safe leadership and dedicate time to listen, learn and embed community benefit into organisational decisions.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience leading complex, multi‑million‑dollar organisations through growth, change and operational complexity.
* Strong commercial and financial acumen, sound governance and risk management capability.
* Demonstrated ability to balance commercial discipline with community benefit.
* Cultivated, inclusive, decisive leader who develops high‑performing teams, communicates with clarity and integrity, and leads with accountability, safety and purpose at the centre of decision‑making.
* Commitment to culturally safe leadership and a willingness to listen, learn and build respectful, trusted relationships with First Nations communities.
