Botton + Gardiner, a division of the Baresque Group, is a renowned Australian brand specializing in exceptional commercial furniture for public spaces.
With nearly 30 years of experience, B+G designs and produces furniture that fosters connection and enhances environments.
As part of the Baresque Group, we are a global business headquartered, designed, and manufactured in Sydney, catering to various sectors including public spaces, education, municipality, retail, and hospitality projects worldwide.
B+G are looking for a creative industrial designer with a love for materials and manufacturing to join our Australian Design Team.
Working closely with production, Business Development Managers and Sales Support to design, quote and draw urban and interior furniture to specification.
The ideal candidate will have a high level of detail demonstrated through populating and presenting crafted solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Develop furniture concepts, 3D models, and prototypes/samples from ideation through to production.
Lead the selection of materials and manufacturing techniques aligned with cost, durability, and sustainability objectives.
Collaborate closely with internal manufacturing team and external suppliers to ensure design feasibility and optimal production outcomes.
Drive innovation through participation in brainstorming sessions and the introduction of new ideas and approaches.
Maintain accurate documentation and CAD files throughout the design and manufacturing process.
Prepare and oversee cut-files required for in-house and external fabrication.
Contribute to the ongoing expansion and refinement of Baresque Group's offerings across multiple brands.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design or a related discipline.
3–5 years of professional experience in product design, preferably within manufacturing or furniture.
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and Adobe Creative Suite.
Deep understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and production workflows.
Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently and deliver high-quality outcomes under deadlines.
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
