**About the role**
The Westin Brisbane & Four Points by Sheraton Brisbane has a new and exciting opportunity available for a passionate and energizing **Complex Catering & Events Specialist**
As the **Complex Catering & Events Specialist** will be required to support the Sales and Event Planning team in the coordination of all aspects of day-to-day activities including reporting and administration.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensures that events progress seamlessly by following established procedures, collaborating with other employees, and ensuring accuracy.
- Greets customers during the event phase and hands-over to the Event Operations team for the execution of the event
- Adheres to all standard policies, and procedures
- Participates in customer site inspections and assists with the sales process as necessary
- Manages group room blocks and meeting space
- Makes presence known to customer at all times during this process
- Solicits feedback from the property departments to identify areas for improvement to enhance the Event Planner's experience.
- Follows up with customer post-event.
- Coordinates and communicates event details both verbally and in writing to the customer and property operations
**About you!**
- Previous hotel sales department experience
- Must have a relevant diploma or higher, or hold at least 2 or more years relevant experience
- Thrive on direct engagement with a vision to grow and develop yourself and the business
- Be results driven and have a demonstrated ability to achieve targets
- Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and presentation skill
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- The highest level of professionalism and presentation
