**How will I help?**

This role plays a key role in implementing and managing compliance and monitoring obligations in the RAMS franchise network.

The role is responsible for partnering with key stakeholders on all matters involving compliance in the RAMS franchise network, provision of coaching, developing pragmatic solutions to enhance monitoring and oversight and managing conduct incidents.

It is an expectation of this role to support a strong risk culture that embodies our ethics and integrity, balancing commercial and customer needs.

**Your responsibilities will include but not limited to**:

- Support and monitor activities and processes in the RAMS franchise network to deliver efficient and effective compliance outcomes. The role will work towards ensuring that the business operates within a commercial and governance framework that provides business growth and a strong compliance culture
- Compliance coach to the Franchise network, providing:

- Compliance coaching to new franchisees and ACRs
- Monitor the completion of management action plans to remediate findings in compliance audits
- Compliance coaching to manage regulatory and process change, conduct incidents, and uplift of compliance standards in the network.
- Review of controls to identify areas of potential non-compliance and follow up compliance discussions with the relevant franchisee
- Develop a comprehensive view of all things conduct related in the network, so areas of focus are identified, and training opportunities are established
- Support the network through regulatory change or process change, by providing clear and simple compliance coaching
- As part of a team of risk professionals, contribute to ensure the RAMS operations and risk management practices align to the frameworks, policies, risk strategy, regulatory obligations, and appetite of RAMS and the Westpac Group.
- Support the business to drive a strong risk culture and awareness in day-to-day business activities.
- Ensure franchise activities comply with RAMS Risk and Compliance framework.
- Interstate travel as required across the franchise network
- Identify and remediate conduct concerns in the RAMS franchise network
- Assist with investigation work where conduct concerns arise, including initial investigation, interviews, incident record management, develop and implement the remediation plan.
- Accurate and timely documentation of compliance monitoring and remediation
- Manage breach reporting to ASIC in conjunction with 2 nd line compliance
- Assist Westpac Group with investigations undertaken and reporting of conduct matters
- Identify trends and root causes in conduct concerns, to address underlying issues
- Support the Compliance team and RAMS business in ad hoc tasks requiring a compliance lens
- Translate complex regulatory requirements into simple language
- Comprehensive understanding of RAMS policies, with clear and consistent communication of policies provided to the network
- Establish the role as a compliance SME, where the franchise network seeks you out for expert guidance in compliance matters
- Provide reporting of compliance activity to governance forums
- Provide coaching and support to the RAMS franchise network and field managers
- Establishing strong ties with the RAMS Sales and Distribution team, to identify possible concerns and areas requiring additional coaching
- Present on key compliance topics at network forums

**What do I need?**
- 5+ years of operational risk / compliance advisory experience, Risk Management, Legal or Compliance Experience
- Tertiary qualifications
- Strong awareness and understanding of compliance requirements in the provision of lending activities.
- Interpersonal skills that enable you to work with people at all levels (both internal and external stakeholders), motivate others and change people's attitudes when necessary.
- Investigative experience is desirable.
- Understanding of Business and Consumer Lending Products and lending systems
- Maintain & work within compliance, ethical & privacy standards by adhering to the following (but not limited to):

- Westpac's Code of Conduct
- Westpac's policies, procedures, and guidelines (including OHS & EEO)
- Relevant Laws and Policies (e.g. Corporations Act, Privacy, ASIC Policy Statements).
- Adherence to Consumer Bank business rules.
- Thorough, with high attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to disseminate relevant and actionable insights from research and data
- Proven report writing skills
- Flexible and versatile
