We are seeking a skilled Automotive Electrician to ensure our fleet remains at peak electrical and operational performance.
The Role: You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems across our heavy transport fleet and earthmoving plant. This role requires a technician who is comfortable working with sophisticated diagnostic equipment and computerized control modules in a fast-paced environment.
* Diagnostics: Use advanced testing equipment to locate and identify electrical and electronic malfunctions in heavy vehicles and plant equipment.
* System Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring and electronic components, including alternators, starter motors, and voltage regulators.
* Specialized Systems: Connect and calibrate power-operated vehicle equipment, accessories, and GPS tracking/camera monitoring systems.
* Engine Management: Adjust engine control systems and timing to ensure optimal fuel efficiency and emissions compliance.
* Component Repair: Dismantle and remove electrical assemblies; replace defective parts such as fuses, lamps, and switches.
* Safety Compliance: Ensure all electrical work meets Australian safety standards and NHVR regulations.
Requirements:
• Qualification: Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (or equivalent international qualification).
• Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of experience working with heavy vehicles or construction machinery (Experience with Scania, Kenworth, or CAT equipment is highly regarded).
• Skills: Proficiency in reading electrical circuit diagrams and using diagnostic software.
• Licensing: Must hold a valid Manual Driver's License (HR license is an advantage).
• Attributes: Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to workplace health and safety.
