Aerodynamics Engineer Job Description
This position involves using engineering models, simulations and wind-tunnel testing to predict aerodynamic environments for space vehicles during all phases of their missions.
* Develop and execute computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models to analyze aerothermal environments
* Analyze post-flight data to compare with pre-flight estimates and provide accurate predictions
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need a strong background in external, compressible fluid dynamics and experience with CFD software such as Siemens STAR-CCM+.
* Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
* 5+ years of experience with aerodynamic and aerothermal analysis
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and Python
Preferred Skills
Experience with the following software and tools is highly desirable:
* Siemens NX
* NASA solvers (FUN3D, Loci/CHEM, DPLR)
* Data processing and analysis in MATLAB or Python
Work Environment
