Lighthouse Foundation provides homes and therapeutic care programs to children and young people impacted by long-term neglect, abuse, and homelessness. Our focus is on creating caring communities where kids can feel safe, form meaningful relationships, and begin to heal from traumatic experiences.
We have a proven Model of Care that has successfully transformed the lives of over 1,000 young people using evidence-based strategies. We educate and support Foster Carers to provide similar care for Australia's most vulnerable children.
Our Role
As a Therapeutic Specialist, you will provide direct clinical support to young people with complex needs in our Melbourne program. Your role will involve providing therapeutic leadership aligned with our Model of Care, including holding a small clinical case load, completing assessments, and contributing to clinical planning.
You will also deliver trainings and support the implementation of reflective and trauma-informed practices across Care Services. This role is crucial in supporting young people who have unique needs, including those impacted by complex trauma.
This ongoing, part-time role at 0.4 FTE will lead teams in applying our Model of Care and contribute to a culture of inclusion, safety, healing, and growth.

Requirements
* A tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or a related field
* Substantial experience working therapeutically with children and young people, particularly those who have experienced trauma and homelessness
* Demonstrated capacity to achieve positive outcomes when working with children and young people who have complex needs
* Strong ability to develop therapeutic alliances and select relevant theoretical frameworks for psychosocial assessments
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritizing workloads and meeting deadlines
