We are seeking a well-sourced, experienced and collaborative reporter to cover the Australian banking, investing and finance sector out of Sydney, a role offering a unique opportunity to cover the biggest stories in one of the world's most interesting financial markets.
Key Responsibilities
Break news across banks, hedge funds and financial regulators, tracking on-the-ground developments at Australia's biggest financial firms from Macquarie to ANZ, as well as expansion of global players. Stay on top of the biggest news from senior executive changes to new business strategies and regulatory crackdowns.
Present scoops and stories across Bloomberg platforms including Terminal, Bloomberg.com, TV, Podcast, newsletters, video and our suite of magazines. Work with other experienced reporters and editors across teams and bureaus on fast-breaking stories and ambitious enterprise projects that bring sophisticated tales to life for discerning readers.
* Develop high-level sourcing to break industry-leading news.
* Produce quick-fire stories as well as long-term pieces that go beyond the daily news cycle.
* Collaborate within the banking team and across the newsroom.
* Explore innovative ways to tell our biggest stories, including events.
* Drive coverage of the finance industry.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
* At least 5 years of recent experience working in business journalism.
* Experience working in a real-time news environment.
* Experience covering the financial sector as a reporter.
* A passion for career growth and willingness to adapt to change.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
* A strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.
* Fluency in both written and spoken English.
