The Metropole Hotel is one of Townsville's most iconic hospitality venues, offering a fast-paced pub environment with strong food, beverage and functions trade. We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Venue Manager to support the day-to-day operations of the venue and lead our team from the front.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on hospitality professional looking to step into a senior leadership role within a well-established business.
About the role
Reporting directly to the Regional Manager, you will be responsible for:
* Supporting daily venue operations across bar, gaming, food and functions
* Leading, training and motivating a large team
* Ensuring exceptional customer service standards at all times
* Managing compliance, licensing and WHS requirements
* Assisting with rostering, stock control and cost management
* Driving a positive, professional and accountable team culture
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a hospitality management role
* Proven leadership experience in a high-volume pub or hotel environment
* Strong operational knowledge across food, beverage and gaming
* Excellent communication and people-management skills
* A hands-on, solutions-focused approach
* Current RSA, RSG, RMLV and relevant compliance certificates (or willingness to obtain)
