Responsibilities
* Carry out precision machining tasks in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
* Operate and program CNC and manual machine tools safely and efficiently.
* Train, mentor, and support apprentices and workshop staff.
* Ensure strict compliance with safe work practices, procedures, and quality standards.
* Maintain accurate records, including job cards, inspection data, and quality documentation.
* Undertake ongoing training and upskilling to meet evolving client requirements.
* Support business growth through new projects and client diversification.
* Report equipment faults and maintenance needs promptly to the Operations Team/OEM.
* Care for all tools, gauges, and measuring equipment to ensure accuracy and longevity.
* Work shift rotations as required to meet operational demands.
* Identify and raise any safety or procedural conflicts.
Qualifications
* Trade‐qualified machinist with relevant certification.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a customer‐focused manufacturing environment.
* Strong experience operating both manual and CNC machining equipment, including programming.
* Solid understanding of manufacturing excellence principles (Lean,5S,waste reduction, visual management).
* Knowledge of different steel grades and machining characteristics.
* Current forklift and other relevant licences (or willingness to obtain).
* Strong communication skills; able to engage effectively with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
* Physically fit and capable of performing workshop‐based duties.
