Job Title: Cover Supervisor
Location: Meadowcroft School, Wakefield, WF1 4AD
Hours: 42.5 per week | Monday–Friday | 8:30am – 4:30pm
Salary: Up to £25,480 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: May 2026

About the Role
At Meadowcroft School, we're looking for a dynamic, confident and motivated Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team and help create an engaging, supportive learning environment where every student can thrive. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining high-quality learning when teachers are absent. You'll lead whole classes, keep students motivated and focused, and ensure learning continues seamlessly. This is more than classroom supervision — it's an opportunity to inspire progress, build confidence, and support meaningful educational outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing
* Deliver engaging lessons in line with Teacher Standards, ensuring learning continues effectively in the absence of teaching staff
* Support high-quality teaching and learning by helping meet the diverse needs of all students, including the most able
* Contribute to literacy and numeracy interventions and support students to improve progress and outcomes
* Promote independent learning, confidence and positive engagement in the classroom
* Help foster a safe, inclusive and respectful environment that encourages excellent behaviour and personal development
* Support the school's ethos, values and curriculum while contributing to ongoing school improvement
* Build positive relationships with students, staff and families, working collaboratively within the school community
