About the role
As a Senior Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy services across our hospital network. From dispensing and distribution of medications to packaging pharmaceuticals and managing inventory, you’ll ensure patients receive the right medications at the right time. You’ll also support daily pharmacy operations by assisting with stock control, ward restocking, software processing of prescriptions and providing clear and accurate dispensing labels in line with PBS, SAS, and hospital guidelines.
In this hands-on role, you’ll provide technical training and guidance to staff, assist in the preparation of pharmaceuticals, and help maintain compliance with legislation and departmental procedures. You’ll also support pharmacists by responding to patient and staff enquiries with professionalism and care, while ensuring a secure and well-organised dispensary. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in patient care by contributing to the smooth operation of pharmacy services, working as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
About You
- We are looking for a motivated and skilled individual who is eager to contribute to a dynamic pharmacy team and deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
- Eligible through experience or undertaking Certificate III/IV in Pharmacy or related fields; demonstrated hospital pharmacy experience.
- Strong teamwork and independent work skills, with excellent organisation, attention to detail, and effective communication.
- Proficient in pharmacy software, with solid knowledge of medications, dispensing methods, and the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new skills, provide technical support, maintain safe work practices, and engage effectively with diverse patients and staff.
