Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Analyst to join a leading mining tech in a hybrid working environment based in Perth. This 1-year contract role focuses on securing and monitoring technology environments during M&A integrations. You will play a part in identifying, mitigating, and managing security risks while ensuring business continuity. Collaborate with IT, integration teams, and stakeholders to align security controls, consolidate toolsets, and protect information assets.


Key Responsibilities

Integration Security Assessment & Remediation:

* Conduct security due diligence on acquired systems, infrastructure, and cloud environments.
* Identify and remediate security gaps in alignment with organisational standards.
* Support secure migration of data, applications, and workloads into the target state environment.

Security Monitoring & Incident Response:

* Monitor alerts from SIEM platforms, endpoint detection tools, and cloud security services.
* Investigate incidents and coordinate responses with IT and integration teams.
* Document incidents and remediation actions for program governance reporting.

Tool & Platform Consolidation:

* Transition acquired company security tooling to standard platforms (e.g., CrowdStrike to Microsoft Defender).
* Configure and optimise security solutions for legacy and integrated environments during transitions.
* Secure multi-cloud environments (Microsoft Azure/M365, AWS, Google Cloud).
* Implement controls for Cloudflare/Akamai against DDoS attacks and web application threats.
* Assist in securing backups, disaster recovery processes, and endpoint configurations.

Compliance & Governance:

* Ensure adherence to internal cybersecurity policies, ISO 27001 standards, NIST frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
* Support audits, penetration testing activities, and code reviews related to integration programs.
* Maintain comprehensive documentation for all integration-related security activities.

Mandatory Technical Skills & Tools:

* SIEM platforms (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel)
* Endpoint Security Tools (CrowdStrike / Defender)
* Vulnerability Scanning Tools (Tenable / Nessus)
* Penetration Testing & Code Review Software
* Proven experience in cybersecurity roles involving M&A integrations or large-scale technology transitions.
* Expertise in managing security across hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
* Strong knowledge of threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks like ISO 27001/NIST.
* Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft SC-200, AWS Security Specialty, GIAC.
* Familiarity with corporate security uplift programs or DevSecOps practices.

Performance Measures:

* Reduction of security risks during integration activities.
* Timely detection/resolution of incidents.
* Successful consolidation/migration of security tools within program timelines.
