Our client is seeking an experienced
Cost Engineer
to join their team and help deliver a better future for the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Transform project data into meaningful insights for decision-makers
* Enhance cost control tools, processes, and procedures
* Partner with project managers and budget holders to monitor and manage budgets
* Prepare accurate cost reports and forecasts to support project delivery
* Review of contractor/vendor variations and claims
* Support risk mitigation strategies and cost-related project reviews
* Mentor and develop junior cost control professionals
* Continuously improve cost control standards and maintain a historical cost database
What You'll Bring
* Minimum 5 years' experience in cost control, preferably within the Oil & Gas or process industry on large-scale projects
* Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in cost data analysis
* Advanced Excel skills to manage and process large datasets and cost information for client billing
* Quantity Surveying qualification (highly regarded)
* Proven expertise in cost forecasting, variance analysis, and estimating techniques
* Ability to develop project budgets, standards, processes, and procedures
* Strong understanding of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) throughout the project lifecycle
* Demonstrated leadership and team supervision experience
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
