Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Chef De Partie role located at Mercure Canberra. The Chef De Partie will oversee and assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of culinary dishes in accordance with the hotel's quality standards. Responsibilities include supervising junior kitchen staff, managing inventory, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and collaborating with the Head Chef to create and maintain diverse menu offerings. The role plays a key part in delivering memorable dining experiences for guests at the hotel's restaurant and bistro.
Qualifications
* Proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating
* Experience in kitchen management, supervising staff, and maintaining efficient operations
* Knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene protocols, and inventory management
* Strong time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail
* Creative and adaptable, with the ability to contribute to menu planning and accommodate dietary requirements
* Formal culinary qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role
* Experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is a plus
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster a collaborative team environment
