Group GSA is a multidisciplinary design practice with studios in Sydney and a portfolio spanning architecture, urban design, interior design, and landscape architecture. We work across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, education, health, and public domain projects.
We are investing in our digital design capabilities and are looking for experienced professionals to join our growing design technology team. This is an opportunity to be part of building something — shaping how the practice uses technology to support design excellence and project delivery.
The Role
We are hiring two Digital Design Managers to join our Digital Design team, reporting to the Digital Design Lead. These roles are central to the day‐to‐day delivery of BIM and digital design services across the practice.
At its core, this is a hands‐on role. You'll be embedded across project teams, ensuring that Revit models are well‐managed, documentation standards are upheld, and project delivery runs smoothly. You'll mentor staff, support coordination with consultants, and help maintain the systems and standards that underpin the firm's project work.
But we're also looking for people who see beyond the day‐to‐day. If you're someone who's been in a BIM Manager role and found yourself thinking about how things could be done better — whether that's through automation, smarter workflows, or new tools — we want to hear from you. We value a mindset that's curious, proactive, and oriented toward continuous improvement.
What You'll Be Doing
* Implementing and managing BIM processes and digital design workflows across multiple projects
* Developing, maintaining, and enforcing Revit standards, templates, families, and content libraries
* Developing and managing BIM Execution Plans (BEPs) and overseeing delivery against them
* Managing model coordination, clash detection, and quality assurance across multi‐disciplinary project teams
* Supporting and troubleshooting Revit model management and documentation issues
* Providing hands‐on project support, including Revit modelling and documentation as required
* Managing Autodesk software licensing and platform administration (e.g., Autodesk Construction Cloud)
* Mentoring and upskilling staff across design disciplines on digital design tools and workflows
* Developing onboarding and training programs for new team members
* Reporting on the adoption and maturity of digital design practices across the business
* Contributing to the evaluation of emerging design technologies and workflows
What We're Looking For
Required
* Tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Engineering, or a related built environment discipline
* 5+ years of experience in a BIM Manager or Digital Design Manager role within an architectural or multidisciplinary design practice
* Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit across all project stages, including modelling, documentation, family creation, and template management
* Strong working knowledge of Navisworks for model coordination, clash detection, and federated model review
* Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or equivalent cloud‐based BIM collaboration platforms
* Thorough understanding of LOD/LOI requirements and BIM documentation standards (e.g., NATSPEC BIM, ISO 19650)
* Understanding of BCA (NCC) and Australian Standards as they relate to architectural documentation
* Experience developing and managing BIM Execution Plans (BEPs)
* Experience with Autodesk software licence management and administration
* Proven leadership, mentoring, and coordination skills in a project delivery environment
* Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across project teams, consultants, and leadership
* Experience with Dynamo for Revit automation and workflow optimisation
* Familiarity with Rhino and Grasshopper for computational or parametric design workflows
* Exposure to scripting or programming (e.g., Python, C#) for design automation
* Interest in emerging design technologies, including AI‐assisted design tools and data‐driven workflows
* Experience with visualisation tools such as Lumion, Enscape, or Twinmotion
* Familiarity with VR/AR technology for design review and stakeholder engagement
Why Join Us
This isn't a role where you'll be maintaining someone else's system. You'll be joining a team that's actively building its digital design practice — and you'll have a real say in how it takes shape. If you're looking for a role where your expertise is valued, your ideas are heard, and there's room to grow, we'd love to talk.
