Position Available:
Kinship and Foster Care Team Leader.
This role is full time 38hrs per week.
Salary is in line with the Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Services Industry Award 2010- Social and Community Services Employee.

Beenleigh Housing and Development Company Ltd (BHDC) is the oldest Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Organisation of its type in Eagleby, Beenleigh Logan QLD. BHDC strives to support, enhance, and transform the lives of its members in culturally supportive, community connected and regenerative ways. BHDC was formally established in 1994 as a not-for-profit, registered charity holding Public Benevolent Institution (PBI) registration with the Australian Taxation Office.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Leadership:
* Provide leadership and guidance to a team of support workers.
* Develop and maintain a positive and supportive team culture.
* Conduct regular team meetings, systematic individual and small group management of operational tasks, and performance evaluations.
* Receive guidance and leadership to maintain and develop the Jinndi Kinship and Foster Care Program.
Program Coordination:
* Coordinate and oversee the implementation of the Kinship Foster Care Program.
* Ensure that services provided align with the Jinndi organization goals and objectives.
* Monitor program outcomes and report on progress to senior management.
Other Duties
Client Support:
* Work closely with support workers to provide direct support to Kinship and Foster Carers and jarjums.
* Ensure that support services are culturally appropriate and proactive.
* Assist with the holistic case management for Kinship and Foster Carers.
Community and Cultural Engagement:
* Foster and maintain strong connections with the local community, culture, and Country.
* Promote cultural sensitivity and respect within the team and among clients.
* Collaborate with community organizations and partners as needed.
Finance allocations:
* Ensure that funds are allocated responsibly and in line with program guidelines.
Documentation and Reporting:
* Maintain accurate records of client interactions and program activities.
* Prepare regular reports on program performance and outcomes.
Budget Management:
* Assist in budget planning and management for the Kinship and Foster Care and Connecting Kin programs within holistic service

Your Contribution

Essential Criteria
* Relevant tertiary qualifications and or proven experience of no less than 2 years
* QLD Driver's License
* Holder of a current Blue Card (No Card – No Start policy applies)
* Child Safety License Screening
* First Aid and CPR
* Knowledge or ability to gain knowledge of the Child Protection Act of 1999, as amended, and an ability to navigate the legislation to find relevant information
* Knowledge or ability to gain knowledge of the Child Safety Practice Manual and the ability to navigate it and use it to support clients
Additional Criteria
1. Experience and/or the ability to demonstrate community development skills in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, particularly a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
2. Child Protection, Community Services and Financial and business management experience and/or qualification.
3. High level of communications skills, including the ability to hold difficult and challenging conversations with clients, when required.
4. Demonstrated writing skills and the ability to produce comprehensive, detailed, and accurate case notes, reports and assessments using a computer including spreadsheets, email, internet, digital media etc.
5. Demonstrated ability to provide training, supervision and management of a small team.
6. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
