The Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is looking for professional and experienced Health Clinician to work with children, parents, carers and school staff with the aim of preventing mental illness and behavioural disorders in later life and improving educational outcomes for Children in Kindergarten to Year 2.
The program will work with young children, parents, carers and school staff.
CAMHS GOT IT! will provide opportunities for partnering with local services. In particular, Family Referral Services will assist in providing linkages with appropriate CMOs and family support services, including CMO partners in Brighter Futures.
About The Opportunity
As a Got It! Mental Health Clinician, you will join a specialist, school-based early intervention team delivering evidence-based programs to support children’s social and emotional wellbeing. Working within primary school settings, you will facilitate social and emotional learning groups for children in Kindergarten to Year 2, deliver structured parenting programs for parents and carers, and partner closely with teachers and school staff to strengthen their capacity to respond to children’s wellbeing needs.
This position offers the opportunity to be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team committed to early identification and prevention. The Got It! program works alongside children, families and schools to reduce the risk of escalating behavioural and emotional concerns, build parenting confidence and skills, and enhance whole-school capability in supporting student wellbeing. The role also includes contributing to program planning, evaluation, and professional education activities to ensure high-quality, sustainable service delivery.
CAMHS GOT IT! is a whole school approach which supports:
CAMHS Service - Increased community capacity to provide early interventionSchool staff - Universal program-related training and intervention-specific guidance for primary schoolParents - Multi-level evidence based parenting interventions. These will include universal, group andIndividual parenting programs for parents of indicated children and will complement existing parenting programsChildren - Universal screening, targeted assessment and group treatment for indicated children in the primary school settingFamilies – Streamlined referral for identified child and family needs.

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
Significant post-graduate experience providing assessment and intervention to children and their families presenting with complex mental health needs using evidence-based approaches.Demonstrated understanding of child development, and the effects of trauma on child mental health.Experience and skill in developing, delivering and evaluating group programs for parents and young childrenHigh level communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a range of key stakeholders.
