Lecturer - Computer Science
Edith Cowan University (ECU) seeks a full‑time Lecturer in Computer Science at its Joondalup and City campuses. Salary: $117,905 – $139,307 (ALEVB).
About the Opportunity
In partnership with Apple, ECU is building a dynamic, hands‑on team for the newly launched Apple Foundation Program. This role will combine expertise in design thinking, coding, app development, and Apple technologies to deliver innovative, industry‑leading learning experiences.
You will work with the Apple Foundation Program Coordinator to facilitate and establish this new active‑learning experience for students, with a particular focus on technical delivery. Additionally, you will engage with a major immersive data visualisation infrastructure project, collaborating with existing research capabilities in AI, machine learning, cyber security, and computer science.
Responsibilities
* Facilitate and establish the Apple Foundation Program curriculum.
* Deliver hands‑on, challenge‑based learning experiences.
* Serve as a technical mentor and coach for students.
* Collaborate on the development of a new multi‑disciplinary immersive data visualisation capability.
About You
The ideal candidate will bring hands‑on Apple‑based technical expertise, experience in coaching/mentoring, and experience developing iOS applications.
Qualifications
* Hands‑on Apple‑based technical expertise and coaching/mentoring experience.
* Experience mobile development, iOS platform, and a good command of Apple programming languages.
* A WA Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain one.
* Deep knowledge of Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit and at least one additional language (Java, C++, Objective‑C).
* Experience with Xcode and developer IDEs.
* Experience with UI/UX testing and software testing tools.
* Familiarity with lateral thinking tools and ideation frameworks.
* Experience in data visualisation (2D/3D) and immersive platforms (AR/VR).
* A PhD in an aligned area and at least two years post‑PhD experience.
* A proven research track record commensurate with the level of appointment.
