We're Australia's largest coal producer, operating a mix of open cut and underground coal mines across New South Wales and Queensland, providing work for almost 10,000 people. Coal is one of Australia's largest export industries, delivering significant socioeconomic value to workers, their families, suppliers, and local communities.
We're responsible miners of coal with a track record of operational excellence. Our coal business is well-positioned to supply high-quality coal required to meet global steel production.
About Your Potential New Position:
We believe engineering design, asset management standards, and reliability have been fundamental to the success of our safe, highly productive operating sites. Improving efficiency and effectiveness of asset management systems and personnel is essential for meeting our business targets.
As a results-driven individual, your primary purpose will be to implement systems and standards for maintenance, asset management, condition, and performance monitoring. You'll also focus on strategic maintenance initiatives to achieve target reliability and optimize total asset costs.
You'll be based in Mackay, with key responsibilities including:
* Providing advice and support across the business relevant to your area of expertise.
* Investigating enhancements to standards, procedures, and processes in your areas of expertise to achieve improvements in safety, reliability, performance, job satisfaction, and productivity.
* Maintaining knowledge of best practices within your field of expertise and sharing useful information across the business.
* Developing the understanding of others to support and implement engineering improvements and maintaining practical knowledge of the work environment.
* Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with external stakeholders.
About You:
* You'll have tertiary studies in an appropriate engineering discipline or extensive experience in reliability engineering.
* You'll have practical application of Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies.
* You'll be able to analyze data by identifying what data is useful to collect, how to collect it safely and efficiently, and utilizing the data consistently.
* You'll be proficient with maintenance management systems (we utilize SAP).
* You'll have excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills, with leadership experience highly regarded.
* You'll enjoy coaching and developing others and gain satisfaction through incremental improvements.
