Leaning Tree Steiner School is seeking a Community Manager to nurture and strengthen the relationships at the heart of our school.
Inspired by the educational philosophy of Rudolf Steiner, our school values authentic connection, collaborative leadership and education that supports the whole child. The Community Manager plays a vital role in expressing and stewarding this culture within our school and the wider community.
About the Role
In this dynamic and rewarding position, you will:
* Facilitate engaging and welcoming school tours
* Oversee and administer enrolment processes
* Promote the school across various marketing platforms
* Organise and coordinate community and school events
* Liaise with families, community members and external partners
* Manage compliance processes and associated documentation
You will work closely with staff and leadership to support community engagement, enrolment growth and the clear communication of our school's unique values.

Essential Criteria:
* Current WWCC (Working with Children Check),
* Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills,
* Strong teamwork skills, with the initiative to work effectively with staff, parents, and students,
* High attention to detail and creativity in marketing, event planning, and community liaison, with the ability to report effectively to the Education Manager,
* Demonstrated qualities of motivation, flexibility, openness, reliability and a reflective, friendly approach,
* Computer literate and proficient in the use of Microsoft and
* Understanding of the Leaning Tree Steiner School's Ethos, Vision, Mission, Values, and Virtues (available on our website).
Highly Desirable:
* Training, experience, or familiarity with Steiner Education,
* Current certifications in First Aid, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma,
* Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and
* Willingness to learn how to administer platforms such Facts School Management, Seesaw, Schoolzine, CompliSpace, Canva and Squarespace.

Position Title: Community Manager
Employment Type: Part Time (0.8 FTE or 30.4 hours/week)
Location: Leaning Tree Steiner School, Glenfield WA
Reporting To: Education Manager
Position Summary
The Community Manager oversees internal and external communications, supports the development of the school community, and strengthens the school's visibility and connections with the broader community. The role involves collaboration with the Executive Management Team to ensure the effective operation of the school.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Community and Communications
Ensure clear communication lines with parents and families, including coordinating newsletters.
Support and coordinate volunteers and events such as busy bees, celebrations, and parent education programs.
Oversee the welfare of students, e.g. 1st Aid
Oversee the threefold health of the school community (Head Heart Hands). E.g. welcoming births, honouring transitions, and responding to external events that have impact on the school community.
Create opportunities for excursions, incursions.
Develop and review policies, procedures and handbooks for staff and parents.
Attend and contribute to Executive Management Team and Governing Body meetings.
Provide administrative support to the GB in the Executive Office role.
External Community and Communications
Coordinate guided tours and follow up with prospective families.
Enhance visibility through marketing opportunities and media releases.
Develop and strengthen community networks and partnerships.
Maintain and manage the school's website and social media platforms.
Administrative Duties
Manage parent surveys, re-registration compliance, and whole-school documentation.
Complete annual school compliance related to enrolments as required, e.g. Student Attendance Data Summary, Student Residential Address Collection, Student Background Data Collection, Student Registration & Demographic reporting.
Maintain student records and enrolment information.
Respond to inquiries (email, phone, and in-person) professionally and promptly.
General Duties
Represent the school professionally and maintain confidentiality in all activities.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders.
Promote the ethos and cultural practices of the school.
Key Selection Criteria
Proven experience in community engagement and relationship management.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Familiarity with Steiner education principles (preferred).
Competence with digital communication tools, including websites and social media.
Conditions of Employment
Salary range dependent on experience and qualifications:
$85,000 - $104,991 gross annual salary (pro rata), plus superannuation and leave entitlements as per National Employment Standards.
Leave Entitlements: Annual leave, personal leave, and long service leave as outlined in the contract.
