Disability Support Worker Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our support services, you will play a vital role in assisting customers to become more independent in their own homes and communities.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Mentoring and skill development coaching to help customers explore and develop their personal interests/hobbies;
* Coaching independent living skills such as cooking and domestic skills;
* Administering medication and adhering to individual support plans;
* Completing clear, concise, and factual handover notes and incident reports;
* Providing personal care when required;
* Helping customers engage with local communities and culture through Community Participation Programs.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be willing to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, awake shifts, sleepovers, and weekends. You will also need to have versatile communication skills, interact with both verbal and non-verbal customers, hold a current driver's license, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, and First Aid Certificate.
