Role and Responsibilities:
* Monthly management of accounts including month end, reconciliations, journals, and accruals, across multiple entities
* Preparation of Financial Statements; Balance Sheets, Income Statements and Cashflow as well as general ledger management
* Statutory reports and compliance
* Complete Payroll activity
* Monthly bank reconciliations across multiple entities
* Fixed asset register maintenance
* Settlement of accounts and intercompany transactions
* Establish collaborative working relationships with other finance team members, the wider team, and external stakeholders.
* Cash flow forecasting.
* Monitoring financial compliance with AFS License requirements
* Preparation of quarterly board papers including financial statement, analysis and dividend/ capital management recommendations as required.
* Participate in audit process and requirements.
* Liaise with clients on cash flow management.
* Preparation of APRA reporting
* Provide technical support to Financial Accountants
* Peer review to ensure quality assurance on complex financial activities eg. APRA returns
* Support clients in preparation for and participation in regulatory oversight committee eg. Risk Committee
* Monitoring compliance with APRA requirements and supporting clients with prudential requirements.
* Support clients in preparation for and attendance at APRA prudential review.
* Drafting of reporting to the Senior Officer Outside Australia.
* Regular interaction and collaboration with other LWDS teams including Tax, Investments Payroll and Account Operations
* Support Finance Manager as required.
Qualifications/Personal Attributes:
* CA/CPA Qualified
* 5+ years accounting experience
* General Insurance experience preferred not mandatory.
* Experience working for Chartered Accounting firm beneficial not mandatory.
* Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal.
* Proven technical accounting knowledge.
* Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.
