Countersight is a specialist cybersecurity company delivering security research, capability development and consulting services to clients within government and across the private sector. We are independent, Australian, and Canberra based but with the flexibility to operate Australia wide.

The Role

Consultancy allows us to make a direct positive impact on a day-to-day basis. It provides our clients with the opportunity for rapid progress while enabling us to learn valuable lessons that feed into our security research and related work.
Our Cybersecurity Consultants work with clients to directly address the risks they face through targeted capability development. This spans from planning and governance through to network monitoring and incident response, with the ultimate goal of fostering self-sufficiency within client teams. Our consultants work across a range of fields and specialisations, including:
* Incident response & threat detection
Working individually or in small teams, our consultants work on engagements ranging from short-term assurance exercises through to long‐term deployments embedded as subject matter experts within client teams.
We are looking for people with relevant experience and an interest in consultancy work, from mid‐career through to experienced consultants.
A background in consultancy is not a must‐have, and we would be interested in talking with anyone looking for an opportunity to get into consultancy.
Must-have
* Experience in cybersecurity, ideally in cybersecurity operations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder management.
* Strong technical experience, including across the SIEM, SOAR, EDR and cloud security space.
Nice-to-have
* Incident response and SOC operations experience and accreditations.
* Experience with Google SecOps and other Google Cloud offerings.
* Familiarity with Australian Government procurement and compliance.
* Working knowledge of security and compliance frameworks, including PSPF, ISM and Essential 8.
