Your future role
An exciting opportunity has become available to join our team as the Fleet Performance & Planning Manager for the Queensland Next Generation Rollingstock (QNGR) operation. Based in Wulkuraka, QLD and reporting directly to the Project Director, you will lead the Planning and Performance teams to deliver expertise in planning, performance, depot maintenance, and reporting. Your focus will be on ensuring all work is strategically planned to meet compliance and contractual obligations, while applying lean principles to drive continuous improvement.
The QNGR contract is one of Alstom ANZ’s most critical operations. A multidisciplinary team of over 250 is dedicated to ensuring the reliability and availability of Queensland’s NGR train fleet. Operating 24/7, the majority of work is carried out at our Wulkuraka facility, with smaller teams positioned across the Southeast Queensland rail network. This is a pivotal time to join us as we continue to optimise operations, build capability, and deliver a reliable fleet for the state of Queensland under our long-term maintenance contract.
We’ll look to you for:
* Leadership & Capability : Leading the QNGR Performance and Planning team, ensuring members are trained, competent, and equipped to meet operational requirements.
* Strategic & Operational Oversight : Manage daily operations and align team decisions with QNGR priorities, while actively contributing to Leadership decisions on priorities, risks, and improvements.
* Planning & Performance Delivery : Overseeing maintenance planning to meet train availability targets, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, commercial, and technical standards.
* Continuous Improvement : Driving the development and enhancement of processes, procedures, and reporting (e.g., Performance, Reliability, CRM), ensuring efficient and accurate delivery. Leading the utilisation of Digital Technology to achieve project outcomes.
* Stakeholder & Customer Engagement : Managing subcontractors and customer relationships, ensuring alignment on priorities, minimizing financial risk, and maintaining strong communication.
* Resource & Cost Management : Optimizing resource allocation, controlling depot costs, and implementing people strategies including workforce planning, training, and performance management.
* Compliance & Risk Mitigation : Ensuring safety and statutory compliance, supporting audits, managing operational risks, and leading strategies to reduce penalty exposure and improve KPI outcomes. Managing compliance to the technical maintenance plan (TMP), utilising SAP GSI and other digital technologies.
