About the role
The CAMHS Occupational Therapist delivers specialist therapy for children, adolescents and families. Provides culturally responsive care and consultancy within multidisciplinary teams to support recovery, equity, and quality outcomes.
Key duties of the role
* Undertaking the assessment of, and the development of formulations for, both individuals and families
* Implement individual, family and/or other group therapies
* Act as a consultant and resource person to CAMHS, other agencies, and the community
* Participate in the identification of mental health needs in the community
* Be responsible for the clinical supervision and training of occupational therapy students on placement within the regional team
Skills and Experience
* Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Occupational Therapy Board Australia (AHPRA).
* Clinical experience in the treatment and management of complex child and adolescent mental health issues.
* Ability to implement clinical assessments and interventions of a complex nature
* Experience developing and implementing preventative and/or therapeutic programs
* Knowledge of assessment and intervention models for working with children, adolescents and families.
