Kalahari Farms is a diversified family-owned agri-business based in Mareeba, 1 hour west of Cairns, Far North Queensland. The business is involved with a broad range of agricultural enterprises such as avocados, macadamias, and poultry operations. We are currently on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Farm Manager to join our poultry department and manage one of our poultry farms. The poultry operation comprises 2 farms with 10 sheds.
The successful candidate will be compensated with an attractive salary package, including a company vehicle for work use and a well-maintained house.
Responsibilities of this position will include:
* Lead by example in a team environment, setting clear expectations and overseeing the operations of the poultry farms.
* Ensure the care and feeding of the birds, including animal welfare/husbandry, manage day-to-day operations smoothly.
* Ventilation system monitoring and management.
* Maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations and adhering to Company, RSPCA and client standards.
* Maintaining bio-security and quarantine to the highest standards.
* Maintain up-to-date records of production, inventory, and farm activities.
* General repairs & maintenance and operating machinery.
Requirements and Skills:
* Proven experience in poultry management and a comprehensive understanding of poultry husbandry.
* Full Australian Work Rights.
* Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of animal welfare standards, biosecurity, and regulatory compliance.
* Proficient in record-keeping and data analysis.
* Availability to work outside of business hours if needed and to adapt to changing circumstances.
* Trustworthy and professional person who can be relied upon and who can work in a team environment.
* Experience in planning, organising, prioritising, and coordinating work in a changing environment.

* Generous salary of $75,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation
