The location and Lifestyle:

Mt Carbine has a rich history of tungsten production and is strategically and conveniently located only 75 kms from the beautiful seaside town of Port Douglas in Far North Queensland where the Daintree Forest meets the Great Barrier Reef. The Mt Carbine Tungsten mine is 120km North of Cairns International Airport via sealed highway. Neighbouring the Mt Carbine township on the Mulligan Highway, The Mt Carbine Tungsten Mine is central to Mossman, Port Douglas, Mareeba, Julatten and Mt Molloy. For those with families, there is a choice of private and public schools, as well as universities and technical education facilities in the area.

About the Role:

The Warehouse Operator will be responsible for supporting warehouse and logistics operations in a safe and efficient manner within an operational mine site environment. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team on a 6-month contract.

This role involves a range of physical duties and exposure to challenging work environments. The position requires the ability to perform manual tasks including lifting, pushing, pulling and other physical activities associated with warehouse operations. A strong commitment to workplace health and safety is essential, along with the ability to work effectively within site procedures and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

* Receive and check incoming deliveries against purchase orders and documentation.

* Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move and store materials.

* Pick, pack and prepare orders for dispatch in line with company procedures.

* Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stocktakes.

* Load and secure outgoing freight in accordance with safety requirements.

* Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse environment.

* Follow all company policies and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures.

* Report damaged goods, discrepancies or hazards to supervisors.

* Work with operations and maintenance teams to ensure timely supply of materials.

Key Selection Criteria:

* Previous experience working in a warehouse, stores, logistics, or similar environment, preferably within mining or heavy industry.

* Current Forklift Licence with demonstrated experience operating forklifts safely.

* Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices, particularly within an operational or industrial environment.

* Ability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting, pushing and pulling in a physically demanding role.

* Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately manage stock, receipting and dispatch of goods.

* Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

* Ability to follow procedures and work instructions while maintaining a high standard of safety and efficiency.

* Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory or warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office.

* Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

* A current C Class Driver’s Licence and the ability to work within a mine site environment.

Additional Requirements for Working at Mt Carbine:

* The ability to pass a pre-employment medical

* Australian Criminal History Check

* Requirement to live within 100 km of Mt Carbine Mine This position is DIDO
