Aged Care Worker Inspector Role

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission seeks a qualified individual to fill the role of Senior Inspector – Risk Based Monitoring (Worker Regulation). This position involves identifying and addressing risks related to aged care workers, ensuring providers meet their obligations and uphold workforce standards. The role requires field and desk-based monitoring, engaging with workers, older people, and providers to gather evidence, manage risks, and restore trust.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead or contribute to complex monitoring activities to assess compliance with the Aged Care Code of Conduct through field-based and desk-based engagement with workers, providers, and older people or their representatives using a risk-based approach to prioritising and responding to emerging issues.
* Exercise regulatory powers as an Authorised Commission Officer under the Aged Care Act 2024, including conducting monitoring visits with or without consent and gathering evidence in accordance with legislative requirements.
* Collect and analyse information and evidence, including conducting interviews, to assess non-compliance and identify risk trends in line with the Aged Care Code of Conduct and the Commission's risk management framework to inform regulatory decision-making.
* Prepare high-quality reports for regulatory delegates, which clearly articulate findings, risks, and recommendations for appropriate regulatory action.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Experience in a similar role, preferably within the aged care sector.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
* Highly developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* A strong understanding of the Aged Care Code of Conduct and relevant legislation.
