Responsibilities:
* Provide direct quality patient care based on the plan of care and exercise judgment in delegating aspects of patient care appropriately to licensed and unlicensed staff members
* Participate in professional development of self and staff to enhance patient-focused nursing practice
* Perform timely and comprehensive assessments using appropriate techniques for data collection, analysis, interpretation, and documentation
* Develop, implement, document, and evaluate the plan of care in collaboration with other team members
* Actively participate in unit's performance improvement initiatives
* Administer medication according to facility standards and demonstrate safe and accurate administration of medication/control substances
If assigned as charge nurse, you will use knowledge of the staffing plan, skill mix/staff competencies, and patient acuity to develop an appropriate shift assignment. You will also coordinate with other disciplines and department the process of admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Requirements:
* Graduate of accredited college, university or school of nursing
* Current license or permit to practice as a Registered Nurse in State of Texas; CPR;
* TNNC, or ENPC every 3 years ACLS and PALS recertification biannually
* ACLS, and encourages TNCC Certification
