Choice Metering provides electricity, gas and water metering services to over 120,000 customers in Embedded Networks, and with rapid growth now coming to our business we need you to assist us with servicing our Retailers Customers.

We are based in Melbourne and have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a passionate and motivated Meter Reader.
We need a Meter Reader to service our customers based in South East Queensland.
Reporting to our Coordinator, the primary purpose of this position is to perform meter reading and supply change control for our Retailers Customers.
The works are mainly carried out in Commercial Shopping Centres and Apartment Buildings, and you will either be provided with a fully maintained company vehicle or car allowance, tablet for field operations, mobile phone, company apparel and appropriate tools. We will provide training and induction including on-site visits.
Meter Readers are to:
1. Present neat in appearance and represent the company in a professional manner
2. Examine meters and fixtures for proper function and reporting any damage or defects
3. Change supply status of customers
4. Collect meter readings and use field based app
5. Notify appropriate personnel of access arrangement changes, metering irregularities, suspected tampering and unsafe meter installations
6. Investigate meters and perform appropriate adjustments where authorised
7. Liaise with Building/Strata/OC Managers for access to buildings
8. After hours work may be required and you will be paid overtime for this work
Required Skills:
1. Ability to work on your own, be self-directed and organised
2. Manage your time effectively
3. Have a high attention to detail and accurate meter reading skills
4. Fluent in English (verbal & written) and able to articulate yourself and communicate effectively
5. Great customer liaison skills (dealing with centre managers and body corporate managers)
6. Computer skills: working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Outlook email and mobile apps
7. Analysis skills pertaining to typical energy consumption for appliances, to assist customers with high consumption
8. Flexible with adaptability
9. Problem solving and decision making
10. Health and safety including environmental consciousness
Prerequisites:
1. Australian resident
2. Full Drivers License
3. Police Check
4. Health Check (may be required)
