The finance and property department are seeking to recruit a full-time finance /debtors officer to assist the finance coordinator and manager finance and ICT in the management and control of all financial operations and maintenance of accounting records.
Additionally the successful applicant will provide support to the finance team through the implementation of council's new software system.
To be successful in this role you will need
Qualifications
Essential
* Current driver licence
* Employee working with children check
* Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting or substantial practical experience in a financial field
Experience
Essential
* Understanding of computer systems and applications that may be applied relating to financial management and reporting
Key selection criteria 1
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting standards, principles and procedures applicable to debtor management, supporting accurate processing and resolution of operational accounting matters.
Key selection criteria 2
Proficient in the use of computerised systems relevant to council's accounting processes, including financial management systems, personal computers, spreadsheets and database applications.
Key selection criteria 3
Demonstrated customer service and communication skills, with the ability to professionally manage debtor enquiries, explain financial information clearly, and handle sensitive discussions regarding outstanding accounts in a respectful and solution‑focused manner.
