The Role
Applications are sought from experienced Safety and Emergency Services Officers to join the team at Ora Banda.
Responsibilities of this role include:
* Review and approve pre-employment medicals.
* Provide medical treatment as defined by treatment protocols and maintain confidential medical records (for site-based personnel).
* Maintain the medical clinic facilities, remote first aid rooms, ambulance, and associated equipment.
* Complete Drug and alcohol testing as per Australian standards and company procedures.
* Undertake any reporting requirements as required.
* Liaise with Company nominated medical providers to co-ordinate emergency response and medical assistance.
* Conduct health clinics on a regular basis.
* Liaise with the poison permit provider including monthly reporting and stock control.
* Facilitate and coordinate injury management and reviews as required.
* Assist in the data management and internal records for work related workers compensation tracking.
* Development of Return to Work Programs for injured employees.
* Maintain the on‑call medical phone with the capability to respond at any time whilst on site.
* Any other reasonable duties as directed by the HSET Manager.
Emergency Response
* Maintain and develop incident response procedures and plans.
* Ensure Emergency response preparedness is maintained to a high standard, including delivery of onsite emergency response maintenance training and inspections.
* Debrief teams and monitor team members after any critical event.
* Maintain all emergency response equipment.
* Maintain all emergency response plans and maps (underground and surface).
* Assist in the selection and procurement of emergency supplies and equipment.
* Maintain and monitor the sites' ability to manage an emergency on site, including sufficient personnel.
* Ensure the sites ability to respond and react to an emergency through maintenance of static emergency equipment.
* Establish and develop effective working relationships with operations within proximity, including mutual aid options.
OHS/Admin
* Work with key stakeholders to ensure a consistent approach and continuous improvement of the site's safety culture.
* Management Systems and supporting processes.
* Participate in pre-start meetings and toolbox sessions as required.
* Undertake safety inspections and action items to meet deadlines.
* Conduct routine workplace inspections and audits aimed at delivering excellent safety outcomes.
* Participate in investigations and follow up on the outcomes for all OHS related matters.
* Where applicable, participate in safety meetings, promoting a strong safety culture.
* Administration support including but not limited to updating INX records.
* Assist with Aircraft Reporting Officer (ARO) duties as required.
About You
To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
* Certificate IV Pre-Hospital Care (minimum).
* Certificate III Mine Emergency Response and Rescue (or similar) including underground competencies.
* Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing.
* Understanding of the obligations of the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and accompanying regulations.
* Experience in a similar role on an operating mine or construction environment.
* WA Class "C" manual driver's licence.
* Diploma in healthcare or above.
* Injury Management Coordinator
* WHS qualifications (cert 4 and above)
* Cert 4 training and assessing / assessing skill set.
* MR class drivers' licence
