Role Profile
Every Bite Counts is looking for a Senior Quality Associatetoplay a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of Every Bite Countsorganic baby and toddler food and snack products.
The role involves developing and managing the organisations QA/QC department and systems, monitoring production processes, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to uphold our brand's commitment to the highest food safety and quality standards across Australian and international standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Control
* Monitor and enforce compliance with food safety, organic, and quality standards (e.g., ISO Standards, HACCP and GMP).
* Perform and review quality inspections of finished goods, assisting with the implementation of the certification procedures.
* Conduct internal audits and support third-party certifications.
* Lead the annual quality recertification process (HACCP, ACO, NOP, FSVP).
* Manage quality complaints with distributors and suppliers across all markets, performing root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes for non-conformities.
* Collaborate with third party suppliers to ensure they meet their quality obligations conduct annual external audits on our agreed manufacturers.
* Promote and assist in the creation of strategies to satisfy customers and make effective use of EBC's resources.
* Provide guidance on and instruct on quality programmes.
* Deliver training on quality programmes and aligned with business objectives.
Supplier & Raw Material Quality
* Evaluate and assist with approving new suppliers and raw materials based on safety, quality, and sustainability standards in line with the company brand guidelines.
Documentation & Reporting
* Manage the documentation of operating procedures and processes.
* Coordinate routine Quality testing and maintain up to date records to ensure accurate documentation of results to meet market requirements.
* Maintain and update all Quality related SOPs and Quality Manuals.
* Communicate with clients to track opinions on promptness and quality.
* Prepare reports on quality trends, incidents and third-party suppliers.
* Monitor and manage quality through the use of statistical approaches and quality instruments.
Product Development Support
* Work closely with Product Development throughout the commercialization process for NPD projects.
* Assist with validation of on-boarding of new suppliers and completing an initial audit where required.
* Organise direct and take part in quality audits and system reviews; helping employees find ways to enhance workflows, procedures, and systems.
* Assist with labelling and market compliance checks for all products.
* Collaborate with third party suppliers to ensure appropriate shelf-life studies are conducted and organoleptic testing parameters are set for new products.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field.
* Minimum 3–6 years of QA/QC experience in FMCG food manufacturing, preferably in organic and/or infant/toddler food across international markets.
* Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (FSANZ, FDA, EFSA), Organic standards, and GFSI-recognized schemes.
* Hands-on experience with HACCP, GMP, and Allergen control programs.
* Proficient in quality data analysis, documentation systems, and audit preparedness.
* Experience and knowledge of USA and Canada Regulations.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, R&D, Regulatory, and Supply Chain.
Preferred Skills
* Familiarity with baby/toddler-specific product regulations and nutritional standards.
* Experience working with contract manufacturers or co-packers.
* Knowledge of sustainability practices.
