Practice Information This organisation is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service and was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region. The Allied Health team provides culturally appropriate clinical care and supportive health care services to contribute to sustainable changes in the health outcomes of clients through inter-professional collaboration and partnerships with local stakeholders, and organisations. Position Description As a Podiatrist, you will provide direct culturally appropriate podiatry services to the community as part of a multi- disciplinary team/program. You will be required to work across multiple clinic locations and contribute to new and existing initiatives to further develop the Podiatry model. They have both full-time and part-time positions available.
Working within the IUIH model of care, you will be required to:
Provide clinical services to clients and appropriate clinical care including biomechanical, general care, surgery, diabetic foot care, paediatric, community education and provision of orthotics and appropriate footwear
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals including allied health, GPs, Aboriginal Health Workers, Care Coordinators and more.
Liaise with health professionals including General Practitioners on patient care and provide reports to referring GPs in accordance with Medicare requirements
Ensure information is recorded accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic health record system, and that records are maintained in accordance with AGPAL standards
Ensure maintenance of privacy and confidentiality in relation to client information
Position Requirements Mandatory:
Bachelor of Podiatry or equivalent
Current AHPRA Registration
Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
Current Disability Workers Screening Check – required prior to commencement
Current First Aid & CPR Certificates
Desirable, but not mandatory:
Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
