This local council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join their Flood Restoration Team. This is a part-time, contract position where you will play a crucial role in managing the financial administration of the council's flood restoration activities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing and reporting on the Flood Restoration team’s finances.
* Handling financial data for grant audits, specifically for DRFA and CFSF grants.
* Submitting quarterly reports in collaboration with the Council Flood Support Fund (CFSF).
* Providing general financial advice and support to the Flood Restoration team.
* Ensuring grant compliance is updated in the relevant systems.
* Assisting with the annual budget and financial plan as it relates to DRFA or CFSF grants
Essential Requirements:
* A sound knowledge of budgeting and relevant accounting and financial procedures.
* Experience in an accounting or financial management role.
* Experience with financial information systems.
* Strong computing skills.
* A tertiary qualification in an accounting-related field or demonstrated comprehensive financial and administrative knowledge. A tertiary qualification in accounting, or CA or CPA qualification, is desirable.
* High levels of enthusiasm, motivation, and strong interpersonal skills.
