Reporting to the Superintendent – Test & Performance, the Test & Performance Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and supporting prototype and operational testing programs for decarbonised Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME).
The role ensures assets are tested under real operating conditions, performance outcomes are validated, and test findings are accurately captured to support operational readiness, defect resolution, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute test programs for prototype and early deployment HME in line with approved test plans and safety requirements.
Conduct field-based performance testing to validate capability, efficiency, and functional performance.
Monitor asset behaviour during trials and identify abnormal performance or emerging issues.
Capture, document, and elevate defects and performance deviations in collaboration with maintenance and OEM teams.
Verify telemetrics data accuracy and support performance data validation.
Contribute to Hyper Care reporting through test observations, performance results, and issue tracking.
Support the development and maintenance of test procedures, troubleshooting guides, and performance documentation.
Liaise with site operations to ensure testing activities align with production and safety requirements.
Ensure all testing activities are conducted safely and in accordance with risk management frameworks.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience in test, commissioning, or performance validation roles within mining or heavy industry.
Strong understanding of mobile equipment operation and maintenance interfaces.
Practical, hands‑on approach to testing and field work.
Ability to capture and communicate technical findings clearly and accurately.
Strong safety awareness and risk‑based decision making.
Engineering or technical qualification (mechanical, electrical, or trade background).
Experience supporting prototype or OEM‑led testing programs.
Exposure to telemetrics systems and performance monitoring tools.
Familiarity with battery‑electric or emerging mobile equipment technologies.
