CEO, Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency (ANZPAA)

The ANZPAA Board, comprising Police Commissioners from across Australia and New Zealand, and the Chief Police Officer of the Australia Capital Territory (ACT) is the primary governance body for ANZPAA. Accountable to the Chair of the Board and the Chief Commissioner of the host jurisdiction (Victoria Police), the CEO is required to be an outstanding leader, have an in-depth understanding of issues and challenges impacting law enforcement, and capable of developing and maintaining high trust relationships at all levels of engagement.

The CEO of ANZPAA is responsible for leading the Agency and its focus on positioning policing for the future, current priorities for policing and delivering value at both the strategic and operational level for police agencies.

The CEO will provide leadership to approximately 35 staff across five teams: Innovation & Research; Policy & Projects; Business Operations and Communications and the National Institute of Forensic Science. The Agency's total revenue for 2025-26 is approximately $6.0M.


As the successful applicant, you will bring:

* Strong political acumen and awareness of current and emerging policing challenges.
* Experience as a high performing senior executive, modelling a culture of high-performance, flexibility and responsiveness in the team.
* Proven experience in building, negotiating and maintaining high-trust relationships with multiple and diverse stakeholders.
* Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to lead discussions around trends and emerging issues in, and affecting, policing and influence collective action.


Requirements and relevant information:

* A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
* Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold valid work permit or visa
* The position will be located at the Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands, Melbourne.
* The preferred candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment security checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
* The successful candidate must be able to obtain a national security clearance in Australia or have an equivalent security clearance recognized.
* Total Remuneration Package Range for an SES-2 is $290,601 to $419,000.
* Five-year executive contract position
