Job Description
Oversee conservation, preservation, and maintenance of heritage assets (historic buildings, sites, monuments, landscapes, cultural features). Carry out regular inspections of heritage sites, identifying deterioration, damage, or risk, and coordinate repairs or maintenance. Develop and implement management plans for site protection, restoration, or enhancement.
Monitor and manage environmental factors affecting heritage sites (weather effects, erosion, biological threats, vandalism). Work with stakeholders: local communities, Indigenous groups (if applicable), government heritage authorities, volunteer groups. Interpret and communicate the heritage value to visitors: guided tours, signage, educational programs, visitor centres.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies pertaining to heritage, conservation, environment, safety.
