Job Description
School psychologists play a vital role in supporting the learning, behavior, and well-being of students with disabilities. This position involves providing expert psychological consultation to schools across Western Australia, working within a consultative model to support complex case conceptualization, strengthen school capability, and contribute to strategic responses.
This role requires collaboration with consulting teachers, school teams, and system leaders to develop shared understandings of student needs and support evidence-informed practice through a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support framework.
The successful applicant will be required to work across metropolitan and regional locations throughout the state, using a mix of face-to-face, virtual, and remote platforms. In addition to case consultation, they will contribute to professional learning, resource development, and system-level initiatives while maintaining high professional and ethical standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
* Expert knowledge and understanding of contemporary practice in supporting students with disability
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to apply analytical and conceptual skills to issues identification, risk assessment, and analysis, intervention, and evaluation

Eligibility
To work in this role, applicants must:
* Hold or be eligible for provisional or general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment
* Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before starting
* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department's Screening Unit before starting
