About the role
Operator / Maintainer
AGL is seeking a skilled and dedicated Operator / Maintainer to join our team at the Newcastle Gas Storage Facility (NGSF). The successful candidate will be responsible for LNG Plant Operations and both planned and unplanned maintenance activities and will supervise contract maintenance personnel while on-site. This position operates on a 24/7 shift arrangement, including both day and night shifts.
Drawing on your experience in LNG, gas purification, petrochemicals, or a major hazard facility, you will assist the Senior Operator and Maintainer in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of plant and process equipment.

Key Responsibilities
Perform essential tasks related to LNG production, storage, and Vaporisation, and maintain infrastructure.
Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment as per the maintenance plan.
Perform pipeline operational and maintenance activities, ensuring records are kept in the maintenance database (SAP) and maximize the gas production.
Contribute to the NGSF Safety and Environmental Management Plan. Issue and work under the Permit to Work system to ensure policy compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
Mechanical or Electrical Trade, or Diploma or certification in Process Plant Operations.
Experience in LNG and Gas Purification or Chemical, Petrochemical Process plant operations with a strong understanding of process control, maintenance techniques, and safety protocols.
Competence in operating control room panels and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
Good understanding of working in Hazardous areas and the Major Hazard Facility safety regulatory framework.
Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts and respond to after-hours emergencies.
