About The Role

The Central Allocations Unit has opportunities for Registered Nurses to join our team. The Mental Health casual bank offers the opportunity to work across:

Adult Acute UnitAccess & TriageParent and Infant UnitPARCSECU (Sovereign House)Steel Haughton Unit

Ballarat Mental Health Services is a dynamic service striving to provide the highest standards of treatment for the City of Ballarat and local surrounding communities, while maintaining a commitment to a continuously improving clinical environment.

This is a great opportunity to join a team where you will develop discipline specific skills in a recovery focused environment where a client centred, family focused approach is emphasised, work in your area of interest and enhance your skills in mental health.

Casual bank is managed by the Central Allocations Unit which operates 7 days a week. Grampians Health uses an electronic rostering system which matches staff for shifts based on their availabilities via text / phone call.

To maintain your position with the Central Allocations Unit, a commitment of 2 shifts per week is required.

Please upload a cover letter, resume and any role-specific qualifications to be considered for this position. Casual bank shifts can be offered within short time frames, therefore to be considered for this role you must be living in the Ballarat region.

You will be required to provide 2 references, one being your current direct manager and the second, another manager/supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

Caring for a diverse range of patients and residents in varied care settingsAbility and willingness to provide high quality, direct care within scope of practiceComplete mental state exams and risk assessments for consumersComplete medication administration in adherence to overarching governance Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive, patient focussed outcomesDocumentation and updating of care plans / patient recordsProvide accurate and timely communication with residents, visitors and staff at all levels within Grampians HealthMaintaining accurate availability in our electronic rostering system and accepting shifts based on availability

Skills And Experience

Prior experience / placement in a Mental Health settingDemonstrated clinical knowledge and skillsAbility to function within a teamCurrent AHPRA RegistrationCurrent NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain if working in Care CommunityCurrent Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain
