About the role
The City of Sydney is seeking a Safety & Risk Specialist to support a large operational workforce and ensure safe, efficient and customer-focused service delivery.
In this role you will:
* champion a proactive safety culture across operations
* support managers and coordinators with WHS and P&C compliance
* oversee audits, inspections and safety monitoring
* identify risks and implement preventative strategies
* lead incident response and investigations
* partner with WHS, P&C and compliance teams on projects
* monitor KPIs and safety performance, driving improvements
* provide specialist advice and deliver WHS initiatives across depots.
We're looking for someone with:
* tertiary qualifications in WHS (or equivalent experience)
* strong background in WHS, risk and workforce safety
* experience supporting large, diverse operational teams
* solid knowledge of WHS legislation, risk and incident management
* ability to foster positive, accountable team culture
* understanding of cleansing operations, plant and equipment safety
* continuous improvement mindset with strong stakeholder skills
* current Senior First Aid Certificate.

This role has the option of a rostered day off each month, known as a 19-day month.
