Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Program
EMR is a consumer-centred program that supports healthcare providers to perform their roles enabling safety and quality to be at the heart of care for every consumer.
This Program has been established to digitally transform WA Health's clinical information management systems by delivering a Statewide EMR solution for WA Health. The EMR is identified in the WA Health Digital Strategy 2020-2030 as the digital keystone to modernising and improving healthcare across Western Australia.
The EMR Program will incorporate changes to technology, business processes and culture. It will take advantage of innovations in digital health care to improve patient safety and quality of care for the Western Australian community regardless of their location.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Program Director - System Integration to join our diverse and highly skilled team in contributing to the health of all Western Australians.
This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years, from the date of commencement with the possibility of extension(s).
This position is responsible for providing leadership of system integration across the EMR Program, ensuring interoperability, safe dual‐running, and coordinated delivery across Health Service Providers (HSPs), Health Support Services (HSS) and vendors. The role leads a statewide integration function that ensures technical, operational, and clinical components align to an integrated EMR ecosystem. It also provides leadership across all integration workstreams, ensuring coordinated delivery, risk mitigation, and commercial governance, while collaborating with the Clinical, Program Delivery and Financial & Commercial Directors, HSP clinical leaders, technical teams, and external vendors to ensure the solution meets agreed specifications, delivers the planned benefits, and can scale for future system‐wide requirements.
Note: This position will initially be established with Health Support Services as the employing authority; however, the position will report to the Department of Health (DoH) EMR Program Leadership. In the future, this position may undergo a review for re-establishment within the DoH and be re-classified against the Public Sector Award at the equivalent level.
