Job Description
What You'll Do
* Lead and coordinate field-based ecology survey work, encompassing baseline surveys, monitoring programs, and targeted flora and weed assessments across diverse bioregions.
* Manage and lead ecological projects, supporting internal clients with multi-disciplinary tenders and deliverables.
* Design, execute, and analyze ecology surveys independently or collaboratively, performing impact assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
* Assist in overseeing the technical performance and delivery of ecological projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
* A degree in environmental science, ecology, biology, or a related field, coupled with 7-10+ years of professional experience in botanical surveys, focusing on ecological consulting, vegetation assessments, or related fieldwork.
* Excellent field skills and experience conducting surveys in various environments, including mining, remote, and Perth Metro areas.
* Strong technical reporting skills proficiency in GIS desktop and data collection packages (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS and Fieldmaps).
* WA driving license and ability to work outdoors on short and extended field programs.
* Working knowledge of Commonwealth and State environmental legislation (EPA technical guides, BC Act).
