The NTG Department of Logistics and Infrastructure, Transport and Civil Infrastructure Division is looking for a Senior or Regional Director to join its Katherine Region office Transport and Civil Infrastructure Division. The position provides a critical role in the management of regional and very remote road networks, aerodromes, barge landings and other transport assets in the Big Rivers Region. This role is key to the Transport and Civil Infrastructure Division and reports to the Executive Director Northern Region, with a regional report to the General Manager Transport and Civil Infrastructure. The position will build and maintain relationships with key transport stakeholders in the region and manage the regional Civil team, to ensure transport infrastructure in the region remains safe and fit for purpose. The Regional Director will provide advice and guidance on the implementation of policy and system changes that may impact upon program delivery, as well as play a critical role in Disaster Management recovery.
To be successful in this role you must have a relevant Civil Engineering qualification awarded by an Australian Institution. You must have extensive experience in the delivery and management of remote transport infrastructure, contract management and funding submissions to meet strategic outcomes, ensuring the cost effective delivery of the transport infrastructure program and management of divisional resources.
You will need to have knowledge of road and civil industry design, construction and maintenance techniques and practices, including roads, land servicing and hydraulics and best practise environmental management.
Executive level spoken and written communication skills including the ability to assist in the preparation of design, procurement and project management documentation. Suitable information technology skills including work processing and spreadsheet software as well as project management and design tools. Working knowledge of the requirements of the relevant legislation and policies, as applied in the NT as well as a range of Australian Standards, Codes of Practice and association Guidelines.
