Senior Access Consultant
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Senior Access Consultant to join our team. You will play a key role in assessing built environments, advising on inclusive design strategies and supporting clients to meet accessibility standards and exceed expectations.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct on-site and desktop accessibility audits of buildings, campuses, and public spaces.
* Prepare detailed reports outlining findings, recommendations, and compliance with relevant standards (e.g., DDA, NCC, AS1428, LHA, Luminance Contrast Testing).
* Collaborate with architects, designers, and project teams to integrate inclusive design principles.
* Provide expert guidance to clients on universal design principles, effective wayfinding strategies and the development of accessible places and spaces.
* Stay up-to-date with legislation, codes, and best practices in access and inclusion.
* Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and development of Access Studio's methodologies.
Essential Criteria
* Proven experience in access consulting or a related field.
* Strong knowledge of disability access legislation and standards.
* Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
* A collaborative mindset and commitment to inclusive design.
* Qualifications in architecture, urban planning, occupational therapy or similar are highly regarded.
Desirable Criteria
* Membership with the Association of Consultants in Access Australia (ACA) or eligibility.
* Experience conducting disability audits in educational or public sector settings.
* Familiarity with Bluebeam software and accessibility audit tools.
